What we do
Our Mission
Our mission is to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous community by providing food relief, youth and family enrichment, and community events.
Youth
We focus on our youth. Many of our programs are for our youth including summer skills classes, art classes, and a youth hangout on the weekends.
Family
We focus on family-friendly events and programs. We assist families with food, coat and blanket drives, and fun community events.
Community
We bring our community together through annual holiday events and celebrations including Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.
Our Programs
We host many annual holiday events including the "Spooktacular" Halloween Carnival, the Christmas Community Celebration where Santa Comes to Town. and the Easter Egg Dash. We also have an annual Angel Tree to provide presents and clothing for our low-income youth, and a Golden Angel Program that delivers a hot turkey dinner and presents to our more isolated senior citiznes.
Collaborating with Dolores County Schools we provide free school supplies for all students pre-K through high school. We hold an annual school kick-off celebration every year to pass out items. We also collaborate with the schools for school snack and various other programs.

Community
ROCK is convinced that by building up programs that support our youth and families, we can help create a place that our community is proud to call home.
We do this through our programs, events, and food relief efforts, but honestly we are a strong organization because of our community.

Our volunteers are at the heart of our organization and we want to say a special thank you to every single volunteer!
Many of our events wouldn't happen without our volunteers.
In fact, in 2022 we had over 90 volunteers about 3000 hours of their time!
This includes the full-time volunteer position of our Executive Director, Carol Marie Howell.

While there are limited activities for youth in Dove Creek, this outstanding program packs in numerous safe and fun activities for our teenagers. As well as plenty of food. In 2014 my family was blessed with quadruplets which put a huge financial strain on our family not only after they were born but before as well . . . We could barely pay our bills let alone feed, cloth, and buy Christmas presents for our children that year. They kept sending letters home from school for angel tree and me being the too proud mama didn't fill them out. We had a ton of support from the community I don't want to leave that out. But on Christmas Eve my family and I were sitting around the table talking and having a great time and here comes Carol Marie with a truck load of gifts ranging from diapers, wipes to gifts for all the older kids. I was amazed and in tears, because I didn't ask and they still knew we needed help."

"Hangout is fun because we try to get all of my friends to go we play games like Just Dance and board games. Sometimes we even play hide and seek in the dark. It makes me feel happy to be able to go to these programs because it keeps me busy and out of the house."
